Elaine, the client for whom I made a Lissome corset recently, has sent me some utterly gorgeous images of her wearing it.
You may remember my post where I mentioned that Elaine has scoliosis and some interesting body quirks where one side of her waist is one inch higher than the other, as well as one side of her ribcage being larger than the other. This took me a lot of thinking to get the pattern right, but the end result certainly justifies all the swearing!

Doesn't she look fabulous?

By the way, Lissome corsets are a Volancia original and are constructed just like a normal corset with a busk, steel boning and sturdy grommets for lacing, but the fabric used is stretchy bengaline for both the strength and facing fabric, with another stretch fabric (bengaline could also be used here) for the fashion layer. This results in an extremely comfortable corset that can be worn for extended periods of time or when you need the extra movement that a regular corset does not allow. It is also suitable for people with back problems that mean normal corsets don't fit them properly, such as scoliosis. It is not a replacement for a medical corset, but allows the wearer to have a 'normal' corset without the associated discomfort of an off-the-rack model.
Elaine sent me a kind message with these images which she has given me permission to publish:
"The Lissome is a godsend. It is easily the most comfortable corset I've ever worn, without sacrificing much cinch or support. The steel bones give me plenty of shape, yet the stretch fabrics "give" right where they need to. From the first few minutes after putting it on, it was blatantly obvious I was not going to want to take it off - and for a gal with a very asymmetrical spine, that is REALLY saying something! You've done a beautiful job and made one crooked lady very happy! "
